• Description:
• The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), a specialized agency of the United Nations based in Rome, Italy, hereby solicits proposals for the Provision of service for the implementation of JP RWEE planned activities in Tanzania. The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) is a specialized agency of the United Nations with its Headquarters in Rome, Italy. IFAD's mission is to enable poor rural people to overcome poverty and is dedicated to eradicating rural poverty in developing countries. Working with rural poor people, governments, donors, non-governmental organizations and many other partners, IFAD focuses on country-specific solutions. The Joint Program "Accelerating Progress towards the Economic Empowerment of Rural Women (JP RWEE Phase II)" is a comprehensive five-year program implemented by IFAD, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UnitedNations (FAO), UN Women and the World Food Program (WFP) in Nepal, Tanzania, Niger, Tunisia and Pacific Islands (Fiji, Kiribati, Solomon Islands, Tonga). This program creates synergies by leveraging each of the agencies' respective mandates to improve the livelihoods, rights, and resilience of rural women working in the agricultural sector in a more long lasting and widespread manner. This second phase of the JP RWEE will build on the experiences, successes and lessons learned from the pilot phase (2014-2021) which was implemented in seven countries (Ethiopia, Guatemala, Kyrgyzstan, Liberia,Nepal, Niger and Rwanda). The goal of the five-year programme (please see Annex 1: Performance Management Framework) is to secure rural women's livelihoods, rights and resilience to advance sustainable development, Agenda 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals. To achieve the stated objectives,the program interventions are designed to deliver the following outcomes: • Outcome 1: Improved food security and nutrition for rural women and their households that contribute to equitable and sustainable food systems • Outcome 2: Rural women's income, decent work and economic autonomy increased to secure their livelihoods and build resilience • Outcome 3: Rural women's voice and agency increased for full and equal participation and leadership in their households, communities, organizations and governance systems; • Outcome 4: Gender-responsive legal frameworks, policies and institutions strengthened to create an enabling environment for rural women to secure their livelihoods, rights and resilience INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO ACCESS RFP/ITB DOCUMENTS: In order to have access to the Tender Documents, it is necessary to register in UNGM portal (www.ungm.org).
